Welcome to the online Secured by Design application form. Secured By Design (SBD) is the UK Police flagship initiative supporting the principles of 'designing out crime' through the use of effective crime prevention and security standards for a range of applications.

To apply for the Secured by Design award, please complete the form below and attach the relevant pdf drawings, as listed below:

Product certificates for components such as doors, windows and shutters must be provided to Design for Security before the award can be issued. Once you have completed the form below, the application will be allocated to a consultant in our office, who will respond to you with a list of requirements, which must be fulfilled by the design and specification of your development. Any product certificates that we require will be stipulated in this response.

Please note:

• Where the Local Authority require a Crime Impact Statement to accompany the planning application for a scheme, Secured by Design applications may only be made once planning approval has been gained and layout has been approved.
• Where the Local Authority does not require a Crime Impact Statement to accompany the planning application for a scheme, Secured by Design applications may be made at any time.
